Lay Low and Behold

Lay low and behold
The once heralded hero
The survivor, the saint
Now the fallen,
The faint

Once armed for the fight
With words sharp as arrows
I wave the white flag,
And surrender
To failure

From above and beyond
The battlefield barren,
Shellshocked and wounded
I’m stumbling
Still

Somewhere within you is enough spark to muster the strength you need.

Aw, cheer up!

Or maybe write a post about what provoked this poem?

This is beautiful and evocative.

I'm sorry you're in it, but I have no doubt that you'll pull yourself out.

Jane,
I already replied to this poem, and I still think it is beautiful. But I wanted to reply to the comment you left in my blog. I wanted to tell you that THIS poem... your Lay Low and Behold... is what inspired ME to start writing again. So we are inspiration to one another!

I've been writing a lot lately, and they're not all perfect, but I'm flexing muscles I'd forgotten existed! Come exercise with me! ;)

I hope you're well. (((Jane))).

Oh, I second that, Jess. I look forward to Jess's almost daily entries and I've really missed your entries as well, Jane. Please do start writing again. I promise I'll read them :D
